Achvat Amim is a 4-month long educational program that brought me to where I am today. I learned so much, volunteered with +972 Magazine and The Storytelling Project, and made meaningful connections with countless people across the land. Your donations make it possible for future generations of curious, critically-thinking, and open-minded people to participate in this life-changing experience, and your funds directly support the communities who teach and host us throughout the four months.
Now more than ever, we live in a context of increased separation between Israeli and Palestinian societies, as well as between the reality on the ground and the discourse of Western policy, which affects all who live here. These separations further entrench the occupation and inequality, and lead to a growing demand for critical educational frameworks that encourage real change-making. Such systems of domination and separation are ours to dismantle through solidarity, education, and community.
Achvat Amim asks the question: how does understanding the way power works enable us to unlearn relations of domination, and instead establish relations of reciprocity in their place? Through critical education and solidarity, we empower and educate members of the international Jewish community to act in partnership with Palestinian and Israeli activists in pursuit of a shared future for all.
Our strategy is: 1) to transform our own Jewish communities, 2) to bring more young people into the movement, and 3) to develop leaders who can connect between activists on the ground and international movements. At a time when activist spaces are rapidly shrinking, we count on you to help fund another year of programming, and to support partnerships that are based in solidarity and resilience - partnerships that withstand crises.
