Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, yet millions of people in impoverished countries around the world still lack this basic necessity. Clean water is a vital resource to improving health, eradicating poverty and promoting sustainable development in poor communities worldwide. By prioritizing clean water provision, investing in innovative solutions and fostering global collaboration we can create a future where everyone has access to this basic necessity, leading to healthier and more prosperous communities globally. The WAFA mission is to identify and promote outstanding sustainability entrepreneurs in the areas of water, air, and food worldwide. WAFA searches and finds ‘silent heroes’/sustainability pioneers worldwide, or they find us.

The latest prestigious WAFA (Water, Air, Food) Awards was celebrated on June 15, 2023. In preparation, we evaluated about 200 award applicants from all over the world. The 12 finalists from the Philippines, Cambodia, Tanzania, Nigeria, UK, Kenya, India, Zambia and Cameroon were selected and four winners -one for each category- were announced. It is a great honor to share the winners and their project with you:
Water category winner is Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation, INC. Bacolod City, Philippines
Air category winner is Eco-Green Africa Sustainable City and Work Place (Recycling Program) Abuja, Nigeria
Food category winner is LAGOS FOOD BANK INITIATIVE, Family Farming Program in Nigeria
Youth Climate category winner is Solar PV Powered Energy Efficient Jaggery Units for Energy-Economic Self Sufficiency of Farmers and Women Entrepreneurs in India.
With your donations, we can select the winners, give them exposure, and promote them on social media. This helps them attract resources to expand and replicate their projects to other communities with similar challenges: access to clean water, clean air and nutritious food in a healthy climate. Together, we can create a healthier and more sustainable future for all.
