Dear Husky Rescue Ireland supporters!
Starting off with massive thanks to all our followers and donors. Without you, none of this would be possible. Despite still being a small organisation run by volunteers only, we grow our presence and constantly try to do better - help more dogs, increase animal welfare awareness and strengthen relationships with the communities around us. And all of that is thanks to you!
Our efforts to purchase a forever home for the rescue are in full swing. We are currently at the €12000 mark which is incredible to see and is a welcome morale boost for the team. While the goal is still quite a way off, we are getting closer every month. We have over 100 donors here on GlobalGiving and just 1 of them, our long-time volunteer Catherine, donated over €4000 through her fundraising efforts! Incredible and most appreciated!
It's been a very hard few months for our doggies and the team. The rescue is completely full due to a massive spike in the number of dogs being surrendered across the country. As Ireland recovers from the Covid pandemic restrictions, people are going back to offices and unfortunately, the doggies are being let down again.
Now more than ever we need to ensure that we have suitable premises to care for our furry friends to help them on their way to recovery and forever homes. While our current home is great and gives doggies comfortable and safe conditions, it's a rented property meaning that we may lose it any day especially given the current property crisis in Ireland. Also, being located far from cities means that we have very few opportunities for new volunteers to join our cause and physically help out at the centre.
So spread the word, friends. We are making great progress but we need another push for the goal!
Thank you again.
Yours,
The Doggies and the HRI Team.
