At Ipas Latin America and the Caribbean (Ipas LAC), we work to ensure that women and all people with reproductive capacity have the correct information, feel supported in their decisions, and have the confidence to access safe abortion and contraceptive services when they need them.
Ipas LAC has a dedicated technical team specializing in communication and innovation to improve access to safe abortion. Through digital tools, we meet the information, access, and training needs of women and other people with reproductive capacity, as well as abortion companions, healthcare professionals, and broader audiences.
As part of our strategy to promote informed, stigma-free reproductive decision-making, we launched the “I Don’t Know Whether to Have an Abortion or Not” campaign in late 2024. This initiative was designed to destigmatize the right to choose and to address people’s real questions and concerns about abortion.
During a 24-hour livestream event, we responded to 400 questions submitted by the audience. The event drew 4,500 live users to our website and has since accumulated over 10,000 views.
Today, anyone with questions about abortion can find answers at https://nosesiabortarono.org/, where all the livestream responses have been organized, tagged, and made easily searchable.
From its launch through March 31, 2025, the site has helped 10,309 users find answers about safe abortion, with a total of 17,288 visits to date.
Continued support for this technological innovation project will allow us to continue developing new tools so that more women and people with reproductive capacity have access to information on sexual and reproductive health.
