Friend,
As usual, we are excited to share updates of events and happenings of ABAN with you. A lot less happened the past few months with our programs. Mainly because, a lot more was hapening on the operations side. We had to move offices from where our office uses to be at Awherease, back to Aburi and this time to the Aburi Craft Center (Aburi and Awherease are twin towns) . Yes, both our office and Shop are now located at the Craft center and this makes work a lot easier for us.
On the Program Side, as we could not organize the seminar this year because logistical Challenges, we organized an empowered girl talk program where Gifty and Patricia delivered a motivational talk to the craft community In Aburi. If was the first time the girls held a microphone and spoke publicly and with confidence about their stories, of how the pulled through the many challenges and how through ABAN they are financially empowered and can now sustain themselves.
We also used this time to complete the painting and stocking phase of the Dumpong Library Project. A few more structural works needs to be done and we could always use a lot more books.
We appreciate all the support you have been sending our way. On Giving Tuesday this year, Global Fund for Children will be marching funds up to USD 150,000and awarding bonus prizes in a 24 hour period on November 27th 2018. This will be a great opportunity for you or someone you know to support us one more time. We hope to see you then. But before that, we remain thankful and your partners in service.
