The management of Ave Maria Help for the Needy Association is glad to present our activity report for the last four months. We start by thanking our benefactors for their generosity that enabled the association to carry out the following activities for the benefit of children from poor and vulnerable families.
1. The 25 children under our sponsorship program effectively received financial support in terms of payment of school fees and all of them successfully ended the 2021/2022 academic year.
2. We organised catch up classes for students during holidays and held a meeting with parents and teachers aimed at improving teacher/parents relationship I'm the education of their children. Three more teachers have been identified to join the teaching staff for the academic year 2022/2023.
3.We were able to pay the monthly allowances to the 4 community based teachers for the entire academic year.
4.The 17 pupils that for public exams, First School Leaving Certificate and Common entrance Examination scored 100% in both exams. 13 students sat for the government official certificate examination. Of the 13, 9 succeeded, scoring 69.23%. The first best 3 students in terms of grades, are from Ave Maria center.
Admission into form one and other classes is going on well and more parents are enrolling their children because of the excellent results the center has recorded this year. We equally received congratulatry message from the Divisional officer for Jakiri for the courage and impact of our work in the community despite the security challenges.
5. Three classrooms have been completed to solve the problem of accomodations. This will improve on teaching and learning.
The administration, teaching staff and children of Ave Maria wish to extend our gratitude to all our benefactor and pray that God may replenish the source from where they got the funds to assist us in our efforts to offer children the opportunity to go to school despite the current socio-political crisis that has been going on for 5 years in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon.
