Relief for the parent

By Joshua Omondi | Project Leader

The process of acquiring education involves several costs that are shared among learning instituitions, government, donors and the parent, it may not be possible to carry the whole burden for the parent since there aree some costs that must be cartered for by the parent, like purchase of stationary, school uniforms and even payment of fee. As Sheepcare community centre we have tried to reduce the cost on parents by providing free food for the children while in school , provision of sanitary towels to the girls to boost their hygiene, subsidizing the school fee and even educating the more vulnerable children at no cost hence the parents only have the burden of paying for their tertiary education levels,

Despite all this relief,  some parents are not able to poay for the subsidised fee and even provide the children with the required stationary , school uniform and even medication attention while they are sick, this has made some children to come to school in tartered schoool uniforms that really reduces their self esteem as their fellows mock them, some also do not have the required stionary hence affecting learning process. We have also been touched by the cases of the children that we have offered free primary and secondary education hence end up iddling at home since their parents cannot afford tertiary education, some end up becoming drunkards and ruining their destinies. This was the compelling factor for creeating this project to help lessen furthe rthe burden on parents.

We are greatful to all the donors who have supported us through the GlobalGiving, a portion of the returns for the 2023 April and September Little by Little Campaign has been used to provide medication to some children, purchase od stationary for some and spornsoring a few to levels of education beyond what we offer at Sheepcare Community Centre. The parents who have benefitted from this have not hidden to express their joy and this has really encouraged us..

We kindly appeal to you to commit your continous suppport to help us put a smile on many parents and transform the lives of many children to help them meet their dreams. We also request you to help us reach your those within your network to come on board and partner with us in this course.

Thank you so much for chosing to partner with us.

Blessings
