We hope this update finds you safe, healthy and happy!
School is reopening on Monday, November 15, 2021, and we can’t wait to welcome both old and new students. Over the past couple of weeks, we have been refurbishing classrooms at our all-girls Academy. We have also been recruiting new students. This week, we are finalizing the registration of new and old students. Our Safeguarding Team has been conducting Child Protection training for parents. Teachers are ongoing curriculum review and training. We can’t wait to welcome back our students.
We are also excited to share with you that 19 students will be leaving the walls of the More Than Me Academy under Hilltop Schools Inc. this year. Our alumnae will be furthering their education at other high schools in Monrovia as our Academy stops at 9th grade for now. In Liberia, we say “THANK YOU PLENTY” (Thank you so much). This would not have been possible without your generosity.
As our alumnae transition to their new school, we will continue to provide scholarships to cover the cost of their tuition and uniforms. The Academy clinic will continue to deliver free health care as we do for all our alumnae until they graduate from high school. Additionally, we will continue to offer psychosocial support and mentorship through our Safeguarding Program.
Let’s continue climbing to the top! Giving Tuesday is on November 30th -- just around the corner. If you are planning on making any contributions in 2021, that will be a great day to do it. More details on that will be coming soon... but please add it to your calendar!
Sending you virtual hugs and best wishes!
