Back to school
This new year, after all the difficulties that emerged from the pandemic, and the schools that had a series of lock-downs, begins with a sign of hope for Zambian children: the reopening of schools seems there to stay!
During the crisis, in emerging countries it has not always been possible to implement distance learning, and this has posed a serious threat to children's education.
Guardavanti is very happy at the idea of the Katulumba Community School filled with joy and the desire to learn new things. At the same time, we are very aware that the urgent need for new classes and sanitary facilities has never diminished.
Thanks to our donors, we have made progress with the fundraising, but we are also conscious that this is a long-term project, that the funds needed to start with one block of toilets are still to be reached and that our commitment to raise funds must never decline.
This summer, me and Licia, the project manager, will go to Siavonga to visit the school. We are looking forward to meet our dear partners in order to work together and be aware of all the needs of the students.
We are confident to come back with good news!
Please continue to follow us, to support and share the project among your friends.
Sincerely,
Marco
