Summer has arrived in Italy, but more importantly, August has arrived. As we know, August is known in Italy as the month where nothing happens. Offices close, industries freeze the production and schools are in the middle of the summer break.
For me and Licia of GuardAvanti, who are in charge of following this project, it has always been the best time to pack our bags and arrive in Zambia. Meeting the school principal, the pupils, and our Zambian counterpart has always been a great opportunity of exchange for the development of the project.
Why sadness you might ask? This summer due to study and work commitments on my part, and health problems for Licia, we are not able to get to Siavonga. At the same time we all know that being sad leads to nothing! We strongly believe in the project and are grateful for the support donors have shown us so far.
We want to share even the negative thoughts because transparency and sincerity are guiding values for us.
Most importantly, our visits to Zambia have always had a positive effect, but it is just a plus. The strong relationship of trust established with our Zambian colleagues means that having reached the necessary sum we are able to start the work without our attendance.
With your continued support, we know we will be able to reach this goal. Thank you for building with us a better future!
Sincerely,
Marco
