Manisha's story

By Mayank Sharma | Resource Manager

Hailing from an isolated village, Manisha is undaunted, generous and confident. She makes her teachers and the school proud with her perseverance and social skills. Manisha suffered from serious medical anomalies, she constantly complained of stomach aches but even after a lot of consultations with doctors, a proper diagnosis could not be made. It was finally confirmed to be a serious urinary tract infection (UTI). She was advised to drink a lot of water and avoid caffeine. She has some relief now after resorting to Homeopathic medication.

Manisha’s living conditions are poor and unhygienic. For her to recover fully she needs clean wash rooms, healthy food and water. She was recently rushed to the Doon Hospital after she complained of stomach aches and constant vomiting. The doctors diagnosed food poisoning. She has now fully recovered but the pressure of a sick father, uncertainties due to lack of finances and the poorest of living conditions have made this bright and resolute child lag behind in her studies.

After intensive counselling by the School and proper medical care she is able to attend regularly and has been showing signs of improvement. Her parents have been trying to provide her the best care, limited to their capability. Poverty brings economic instability but should never come in the way of someone’s mental peace, their dreams and aspirations.

At PYDS, the attempt to provide blanket healthcare to all our beneficiaries is an ongoing effort. With support from you and the world around, we have been able to strengthen the bodies of many young children like Manisha. They are provided vaccines and frequently attend medical camps for eye-tests, blood-tests and more. Please support to keep this Mission going. Our little village establishment nurtures children of the world.
