Thank you for your interest and support in blankets and books for Comfort Cases. We would like to share a success story with you, and perhaps inspire you to host your own event to secure blankets and books.
For the past three years, every Friday before Labor Day a couple in Pennsylvania has hosted a backyard BBQ at their clubhouse and they ask guests to bring items for Comfort Cases. Each year, they amaze us with their generosity.
This year, more than 100 people attended the BBQ and brought with them over 150 books and 100 new blankets! While at the party, everyone wrote words of encouragement on notecards to be included in each of the 50 Comfort Cases we were able to pack thanks to them!
We hope you know how important these two items of comfort are to the children who receive our Comfort Cases - whether you are donating to allow us to purchase the items or if you are collecting items for donations to Comfort Cases...We appreciate you, and so do our partners!
From a social worker (J.C.):
"When we see children so close to the removal date they usually have nothing at their placement. We are so thankful to be able to provide comfort cases for these children during such a difficult time. The children we see are SO thankful and grateful to receive a Comfort Case and always leave our building feeling better than when they arrived."
