First, Orphans Africa wants to extend a huge heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated to our project to bring computers to the Secondary students at Mwaji School in Western Tanzania. We are getting started with researching the best prices for computers and equipemnt before we head into the marketplace in Dar es Salaam to start buying. It's a process to find the right vendors and negotiate the best prices. It is the goal of Orphans Africa to make sure the dollars donated are used in the most efficient way possible!
Our Tanzanian Country Manager works hard to keep all the balls he has to juggle up in the air. He manages 6 schools around the country. The Mwaji secondary School started as a single room bamboo building where students rotated through for classes. Now the students have proper classroom, dormatories and a science lab. We are excited to bring them computer classes and equipment in the near fuure!
We will do our best to keep everyone informed. But the immediate project is our upcoming US fundraiser Our 10th Annual dinner and auction on March 21st).
Watch this space for our next update with more information about the upcoming computer lab for our Secondary (High School) students! And THANKS AGAIN for the support and donations to bring us to the GlobalGiving platform!
