Gratitude - the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. As we enter this holiday season, what do you feel gratitude for? Perhaps it’s family, health, a listening ear in times of need. Gloria, 66, lost everything during Hurricane Fiona and was displaced from her home. Because of PRoTechos’ work, she was able to safely return to her home and begin moving forward.
We at PRoTechos are grateful to work in service of our mission of providing safe roofs to those in need, prioritizing the most vulnerable populations- the elderly, infirm and families with young children. According to Puerto Rico demographic data:
On top of this, Puerto Rico was recently faced with the devastation of hurricane Fiona, adding to the number of people in need of our services. Through these months of adversity, many more people reached out in need of roof reconstruction and repairs - and PRoTechos has continued to respond. In the last 4 months, PRoTechos has provided carpentry training to 21 more apprentices and built 10 more resilient roofs.
We are grateful for all of our volunteers, partners, employees, trainees and community members - and most of all, we are grateful for you - our generous donor. We could not continue to do this work without your support. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to you and your family!
