Dear Friends of Crete For Life,
It has been a while now since our programme “Educated Online 45 Disadvantaged Children in Greece” has been launched and we are starting to see optimal results.
Our main aim in this programme was to facilitate the learning of a complex language such as Greek to foreign children in need living in Greece, in order to make their engagement in their surrounding communities a bit easier. One of the pitfalls of the recent pandemic was that the normal schooling of children was disrupted, thus our programme has continued to be carried out virtually as well. Luckily, our very smart kids have proven to successfully commit and make the most of their online Greek lessons.
Faiza and Fahim are two of several bright kids who have been learning Greek virtually for about 6 months now. In the midst of a chaotic refugee story, health and financial issues, the absurdity of a pandemic and a more difficult than usual school year, those two children have been making great progress in their Greek language skills too. Now they can walk around the island of Crete more confidently, find it easier to make friends and even help their parents during their day to day activities.
But facilitating the service is one thing! Our initiative wouldn’t have been possible without these kids’ determination to learn, your donations and our amazing volunteers.
Thank you!
