Dear Friends,
We can report that not very much additional building has been happening in Kiruru since the last update we sent you. But that is a good thing! For the first time in 3 years, the big rains not only arrived on time, but continued well, so the farming season has been successfully progressing over the last 3 months. The crop hasn't been bumper, but it has at least been normal, to the relief of the community.
Since our last update, therefore, the focus of the village has been on growing their crops - especially maize, weeding, and most recently gathering in the harvest, so ensure their food security through the long dry season,. Now that the harvest is in, thoughts can turn back to continuing to upgrade the primary school and teachers' accommodation, to continue to improve the education and safety of the children - with your generous support.
We look forward to informing you of their continued progress next time. In the meantime, if you're able to share this project with friends and family, we know the whole community will be very grateful and will invest your kind donations with their own contributions of resources and labour, to making a full primary school in Kiruru a reality.
Best regards
Bernie
