Hey all!
As promised, our Water House was completed this weekend! Conner, Jaz, and Sara met up on Friday to do alot of the prep work on the solar power and hang the gutters (the absolute worst part of the whole thing!) Then we had a few volunteers join us on Saturday to plumb up the system, paint our tanks and level them, and finish up the gutter catchment. Sunday was a day of testing and fixing leaks and solar issues and doing tons of education with the farm!
The goal of the community space in Brightmoor is to allow anyone in the community to come and grow food in the space available. This includes in a greenhouse and a small plot of land. There is also maple syrup tapping, a shared tool bank, and now a rain catchment and washing station for produce! This is a really special community space that is mostly cared for by Beaverland farms and is an amazing way for community members not only to utilize the space but to meet each other too! We met many neighbors (and pets!) over the weekend and are so excited this system will benefit so many!
It may have been a cold and rainy weekend, but your support made us so happy to be completing this project together! Plus our team time was so great! Thank you so much for giving to this project that will have an impact for many years to come.
Sara
