Dear Supporters,
Our patio is being used for an exciting community service project led by our scholarship students - vocational counseling for local high school students. Vocational counseling does not exist here in Nicaragua; this is an innovation by our students who recognized the need. We open our patio every Friday afternoon to anyone interested in participating in this program, which includes presentations about various professions, information about which universities are best for different career choices, and the administration of a vocational test.
As you can see in the photos, even though we have obtained an awning for shade, it's a challenge to keep all the participants from being baked in the hot Nicaragua sun.
This is why we dream of building an auditoruim, so we can present programs like this to the community and ensure that all the participants are comfortable.
