Thank you for your support on the Challenge Camp for Sponsored Children in 2019!
Here is the 2019 Results Report from the field:
For the underprivileged teens lacking resources and family support, they often have problems with low self-confidence and self-awareness. Especially for the teens in the transition process (from elementary to junior high or from junior high to senior high), the sense of insecurity is even stronger.
Their parents are often working in heavy jobs and come home late, so they might be easier to be absorbed by gang groups because they would think it might validate their own existence or earn attention.
A summer camp will bring children into a positive environment and take them to complete tasks in teams which is able to improve children's capabilities of communication skills and interpersonal relationship.
The Service focuses on…
Transitioning into Adulthood: The challenge camp is to help students graduating from elementary school to prepare themselves. They can start thinking, making decisions, and taking on greater "responsibility" with a more mature mind.
Self-protection & Self-awareness: Learn the uniqueness of oneself, to protect oneself and help others, and the concept of sustainable home care.
Handle pressure: In addition to natural disasters, there are sudden dangers and pressures in ordinary living situations. Equipping children with a sense of crisis, disaster prevention skills and knowledge to manage risks, and cultivate resilience in the face of stress or frustration.
Teamwork: Through experiential education, children can learn to solve problems and complete tasks with others.
