Care in Crisis for Syrian Women and Girls

Thank you so much for your support of MADRE’s Care in Crisis for Syrian Women and Girls. With your support, MADRE and our on-the-ground partners at the Syrian Women’s League (SWL) are there for women and girls refugees targeted with sexual violence.

Thanks to your backing, MADRE and SWL have:

• Delivered lifesaving aid and services to displaced women and children, including food, clean water, hygiene kits and trauma counseling.

• Provided 100 women refugees with reproductive health supplies, including IUDs. This enables women to better plan their pregnancies through this vulnerable, insecure time.

• Delivered over 100 windup flashlights for women and girls living in insecure and unlit camps to help guard against nighttime attacks.

• Organized 10 trainings, each attended by 20 to 30 participants, to build the capacity of first responders. We provided information to Syrian doctors, nurses, midwives and other providers to identify and treat women and girls survivors of violence and to document their cases for future prosecutions.
