Summer Fun at CETAP-LUCY, August, 2022
CETAP-Lucy is an educational-support program that has functioned for fourteen years in Chilcapamba, a rural barrio outside of Cuenca, Ecuador, providing school help, speech and other therapies, and psychological counseling for disadvantaged children and families. Over this time, the program has enrolled and served more than 500 children.
During the month of July, CETYAP-Lucy holds a program where children who did not receive passing grades can work with tutors and take their exams over again. This year, however, ALL our students progressed to the next grade. The children enjoyed art projects, field trips to a planetarium and play dates at Cuenca’s parks. Older students enrolled in the Children of the Night English program continued to take classes over ZOOM, and attend Tae Kwan Do classes. We ended the term with a picnic party for all the children and volunteers.
