CETAP-Lucy Child Sponsorship Program

We extend our deep and abiding appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for your financial support of the children who attend CETAP-Lucy.  As you know, our celebrated program, whose central goals and mission are to provide early stimulation and psycho-pedagogical attention for children with learning, social, psychological, emotional or physical challenges has proven to promote the success and prospering of our students as life-long learners. Our program supplements and enhances learning outside of regular school hours, employing creativity as one of many foundations upon which the structure of CETAP-Lucy is grounded.

CETAP-Lucy is designed with morning programs and afternoon programs targeted for children from pre-school through early teenagers. During the morning shift, we have been working on the induction process of adaptation, and when this phase was finished we started observing the children’s behavior. Now we are in the process of evaluating every child. For those children who have specialized needs, we have begun the personalized therapy with a focus thus far on speech therapy.

In the afternoon, the academic year of 2017-2018 began with the integrated evaluation of each student both from a psychological and pedagogical point of view in order to begin the new programs. We have also been working on providing help with homework. The personalized tutoring sessions really help the children develop in their areas of weakness. A couple of students are so proud to have earned their first 100% on a school exam! This week the students are studying extra hard for the tests that evaluate the first block of their school year.

These programs are vital and crucial opportunities for the development and growth of these children and their families in rural Chilcapamba.
