A very big thank you to all our partners for their love and support. We appreciate the efforts and contributions you have channeled towards our cause. Thank you for the confidence towards us and willingness to help along with the continued donations towards our feeding program and beyond. We’ve managed to accomplish several objectives through your unwavering support and consistency in assisting us. We are proud to announce that we have managed to maintain our program course despite the fluctuations in lockdown restrictions. Your help and support have made the restrictions almost insignificant as the funding came in handy as ever. We have managed to gain stability in our conduct and making sure that Covid 19 regulations are observed throughout the various courses of action. Our lockdown measures were tightened in July after a drastic rise in viral cases and infections hence we had to resort to old lockdown measures as well as suspend some activities such as sport, group classes, interaction, and staying in for meals for the protection of children as well as our volunteers. However, we did not stop the essential services provided by the program as they are crucial to the health and safety of our children. With your support, we have managed to carry on our services in a Covid free environment. The essential services include the feeding program, laundry Thursdays, and educational classes. Restrictions have recently been lowered in early September allowing the reopening of schools. Our children have managed to be in school. However, there are still some children who cannot afford the new pricing on school fees as they were hiked recently. Also, some children need new uniforms and stationery as they have outgrown their old uniforms and some of them are worn out. Given the support coming from you, we have managed to assist as possibly as we could as an organization and we have managed to fully sponsor 30% of the children in need of educational assistance. However, for the remaining 70%, we have managed to help as much we could and with your continued support, we will be able to do the same for them in due time. When the lockdown was in full play, we made sure our children have a bit of learning time with assistance from our volunteers. Volunteers assisted children in their day-to-day classes as well as maintaining a Covid free environment. Our feeding program was slightly affected by the changes in lockdown as children could no longer have stay-in meals where they could interact and play games whilst waiting for their portion for the day. We resorted to the old strategies where they bring their containers and carry their meals home after service. Despite these changes, our program has managed to grow nutritionally and in quantity. We had new members who joined the volunteers and made the processes a whole lot easier. Also, there have been additions to the varieties of meals having added vegetables to the menu for nutritional balance. This allows us to interchange meals during the week with soya chunks, beans, and vegetables. We have doubled up on quantities to help kids carry the food to cater for supper as well. We have had to do more beans in the diet to fight creeping malnutrition. We have also managed to slightly increase our carrying capacity with more children during the week. We aim to feed at least 500 children daily with a healthy and delicious meal. Morning young man. We managed to buy an industrial gas stove and a 19kg gas tank. We no longer use firewood. Thank you for the help with the finances!!! Our laundry Thursdays have been continued as an essential service as they cultivate hygiene in our children. Children bring their laundry and volunteers take care of it. They are given a proper bath as well as dental care. Also, they are given lectures on how to properly take care of themselves as well as properly wash themselves to have a clean refreshing bath. This program has also initiated lessons to the girl-child on good hygiene and sanitary wear as well as how to deal with puberty. In this course of action, volunteers have taken the chance to teach the girls about early marriages and the impact they have on their lives as well as the community. In this act, the organization has managed to provide sanitary wear for the girls which includes sanitary pads, towels, and soap for proper hygiene. We aim to provide this sanitary wear monthly to all the girls going through their pubic ages. We also wish to provide every child with their own set of toiletries so that they can exercise proper hygiene in their homes. Also, we would like to increase our reach and supply some of the children with clothes as they come from families that cannot afford to buy them clothes. Sports, parties, games, and activities have all been suspended except learning activities. This was due to the rise in cases of the deadly pandemic which resulted in a tense lockdown with quite many restrictions. However, we have managed to secure coaching clinics from some of our volunteers such that as soon as gatherings are allowed we will resume our sporting activities and games to allow our children to have lots of fun whilst enjoying learning. We have spaced gatherings to teach children the dangers of the Coronavirus and continue to remind them of the need to stay safe. We then seize this opportunity for life lessons and cultural cultivation concerning societal influence on child marriages and drug abuse. We try as much as we can to raise awareness and assist children educationally that being intellectually and socially. Once again, we say, Thank you!
