We would like to extend our gratitude for your support and consistency in assisting us through our journey this year. As we close 2021 and reach the end of our last quarter this year, we would love to appreciate all our supporters and benefactors for the unwavering support and consistency in our journey together this year. It was not an easy road but with your love and support we have managed to achieve a lot despite the harsh conditions impacted by the novel corona virus. In comparison with the beginning of this year, our program has improved in a lot of avenues, thanks to your funding and contributions towards our cause.

Our lockdown measures were lighter in this quarter. This allowed us to resume 80% of our activities. We are excited that the lift of bans allowed the reopening of schools and our children are back in school. Less contact sports have also been resumed as well as outdoor activities, fun learning and games.

Our feeding program has improved significantly through your donations and contributions. We have managed to purchase a gas stove in the last quarter. This is a great benefit as we have managed to reduce various fuel and energy costs and it also makes work easier for our volunteers. We are now able to reallocate time from feeding to other activities as it has been reduced by this time effective utensil. The number of children has been constantly maintained for midweek feeding scheme and slightly increased for weekend feeding program. We still have takeaway meals to avoid the spread of the virus and our queues are constantly monitored to observe social distancing. However, our aim is still to feed at least 500 children on a daily basis.

Laundry Thursdays have managed to continue consistently, all thanks to your support. We are pleased to write that we have managed to hold classes assisting our children on good hygiene through laundry Thursdays. Numerous classes on different aspects of hygiene have been held with volunteers tackling the topics and peer educators coming in to educate our children. Such topics as sanitary hygiene, dental care, proper bath and washing clothes have been put in play. This has helped improve our children’s hygiene. We are still aiming on supplying our children with enough and adequate toiletries, sanitary wear and oral health equipment through your help.

After schools reopening, we managed to assist some of our children by paying for their school fees and buying them stationery and uniforms. However, not all our children enjoy this benefit and it is our aim to pay for every child under our program. For those who have not reached the age to be in school, we have tutors who take care of fundamental child learning for infants. These tutors also assist our children in their homework, assignments and exams preparation.

The lift of bans on lockdown allowed us to resume sports with our children. We are doing as instructed by the regulations, starting with low contact sports whilst ensuring the safety of all our children and volunteers. We have volunteers who train our children fundamental skills in various sports as well as discipline. However, we still require enough equipment to train our children properly for better results in time.

We are super excited that we have finished this year in style. We had a great Christmas party with some of our friends gracing us with their presence.

We have spaced gatherings to teach children the dangers of Corona virus and continue to remind them of the need to stay safe. We then seize this opportunity for life lessons and cultural cultivation concerning societal influence on child marriages and drug abuse. We try as much as we can to raise awareness and assist children educationally that being intellectually and socially. Once again, we say, Thank you. See you in 2022!
