Dear our donors, we are pleased to share with you how our journey
The year being a tough year. As the country of Uganda we were put under lock down for 3 months, with only markets open, the rest of the work were not active apart from a few government organizations. Schools were the first institution to be closed.
In the meantime our main activity is engaging our children in doing revision through the work we distribute to them, we work along with the school administration which sends home work to us, and we print it and distribute them to our children, each one in their respective homes. And also we skill girls to crochet. Our girls will be doing door mats which will be sold at the cost to support their hard work. The reason we engage the girls than boys the country has registered 2300 girls conceived and 128 married off, reported by Daily monitor local newspapers). Many schools are expecting fewer girls to return to school. We engaging our girls crochet and sell their products and pay them so that they can be able to meet their basic needs.
We were also able to register children who do child labor on the streets of our capital city. Most of our children the reason they work from when they are children, is to help their mothers to raise money to feed them and may be support them through their early learning. Our goal was to identify children who the organization can support in school. We visited in peak ours where they run wherever cars have stopped moving. We had to also become clients and bought things from them so that at least we can also get some attention. So far the organization has registered over 50 children. And we are looking forward to finding sponsorship for all of them.
Being that we are in our initial stages of child sponsorship, it is you our donors that have enabled us continue to serve the children in our community; we looking forward to the re-opening of schools and by January 2021. And sharing with you more of our stories.
