4th REPORT to GLOBAL GIVING FOUNDATION: PROJECT ID #: 19863 - December 2018

We have proposed to set up 125 libraries during the current financial year (April 2018-March 2019). We have already set up 122 libraries in the first nine months. Total number of libraries set up during the last nine years and nine months is 1,146.

We have interacted with HMs and library teachers of most BREAD library schools to ascertain whether they have received the 40 new books sent to them during this year. Most of the schools have confirmed the receipt of books. Some schools, numbering about 50  have informed that they did not receive the books. We sent a copy of the list of books to such schools. On receipt of the list, about 30 schools have confirmed that they had received the books. It so happened that books were sent to schools in vacation time with the result they were not brought to the notice of headmaster or library in charge teacher. Still about 20 schools who denied receiving the books were sent scanned copies of Postal Receipts (Registered Book Post) to make enquiries at the receiving Post offices. We have not so far received any information from these schools even though we sent scanned copies of receipts more than a month ago. We will approach the dispatching post office at Kakinada if those schools inform us that post offices at their end report non-receipt of Registered Book Posts.

Many schools have reported that students have borrowed books during summer vacation and read more books by exchanging books with class mates and school mates.

We have received recommendations from schools for prizes for best write-ups by students on books read by them. We will be disbursing the prizes in January 2019.

In so far as GGF is concerned, we have not yet received the donation for the quarter August-November 2018, though GGF has sent the disbursal report a few days ago. We will be receiving it in a few days. Total donation of Rs.747,556 received through it and ImpactGuru till end of September 2018 as reported in October 2018 remains unchanged at the end of December 2018. Hence a new statement of account is not being submitted.
