Libraries for Poor Children in India

DAAN UTSAV 2021: During the first week of October 2021 our donors have supported us by donating over Rs. 10 lakh which enabled us to receive a Bonus matching grant of Rs. 0.80 lakh from GiveIndia. By the end of the Daan Utsav 2021, we received a total donation of Rs. 11 lakh and we were at 36^th position among 100 Heroes receiving a further matching grant of Rs. 1 lakh from GiveIndia. We take this opportunity to thank all our donors who have supported us during the fund raising campaign.

NEW LIBRARIES: We have established 87 new libraries during the current year. In December 2021, all existing BREAD libraries have been replenished with 50 new books. We also gave an Updated Handbook 2021 on BREAD Library program to all BREAD library schools (copy attached).

 FCRA: BREAD Society has filed the Annual FCRA Return for the year 2020-21. It has also filed the application for renewal of FCRA registration beyond 31st October 2021. FCRA Division has extended the validity period of the present renewal till March 2022.

Financial Sponsor: GlobalGiving Foundation has asked its Indian Partners to intimate the name of a Financial Sponsor as there is considerable delay in obtaining clearance of FCRA to make disbursements. BREAD has suggested a Financial Sponsor and GlobalGiving is scrutinizing the documents. BREAD hopes to get the disbursement of funds locked up with GlobalGiving for about 18 months.

CSR Registration: BREAD is registered with Ministry of Corporate Affairs as an entity eligible for CSR grants. MathWorks Pvt. Ltd. has granted a CSR fund of $ 6,676. We thank the employees of MathWorks Pvt. Lt. who exercise the option to choose voluntary organizations of their choice to allocate CSR funds.
