Dear Supporters,
Thank you for your loyal support and your patience as we push forward with the water project amidst national COVID-19 shutdowns in Uganda. As the country lifts some of its restrictions we are able to re-engage our water project, a top priority for the Entebbe UMEA Primary School. To date, we have been able to purchase the solar panels, the improved water tank, and the pipes. We are waiting for approval from the township. The next step will be to contract local labor, providing much needed job opportunities as COVID-19 economic recovery progress remains slow in Uganda. Once we complete the project, 1,200 school children will have access to safe drinking water!
During the past several months we redirected some funding to ensure that families had access to much needed food during lockdown measures that prevented many families from being able to work. With this support, we reached 1,800 families with much needed nutritious food in August and September. We began by supporting all the students at Entebbe UMEA Primary School. Seeing the immense need, we began expanding food relief operations and distributed food to the local orphanage, mosque, church, and specifically for seniors. This community wide effort has ensured people can remain healthy and nourished despite COVID-19 challenges.
As always, thank you for your generous and continued support.
In solidarity,
Tender Grassroots
