We are deactivating the Community Empowerment for Guatemalans & Kenyans project because the Watha Project built their fourth well (!) to serve hundreds in Kenya and hosted a successful Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Workshop as well, and Community Finance Guatemala (CFG) will continue to receive donations and send out updates from their individual GlobalGiving project page.
Here is a message from the Watha Project’s local hero Jefferson Guyo Badiva on January 29th:
“Dear All,
Just to let you know that we started drilling the fourth well at Bakaye Village. We have encountered rocks, but hope to get fresh water soon.
I have also conducted a WASH training in the village in collaboration with our able health workers from Bombi Dispensary. I am happy all is going well, and the community is very happy.”
We want to express our deepest thanks for your support of the Community Empowerment for Guatemalans & Kenyans project. This initiative that you gave to improved the quality of life and health of these people and we are forever grateful for your generosity.
