On the Day of the African Child, enjuba joined with Usanii Village Africa in Kasese District to celebrate the Day of the African Child, delivering books and learning materials to children in the area who would otherwise never have had a chance to access them.
"We believe that books have the power to inspire and impact young minds, and we hope that these books will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of these children." William Mukisa, enjuba's Chief Literacy Officer said.
The celebrations were vibrant and full of energy, with a focus on community empowerment, literacy, and artistic expression. Through promoting these values, we can help equip individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to drive positive change
One of the highlights of the day was an engaging reading session, where 471 learners actively participated and shared their thoughts on what they had read. It was wonderful to see the learners so enthusiastic about reading and learning.
What made the day even more special was the inclusive participation of learners living with disabilities. This reinforced Usanii Village Africa's commitment to gender equality and inclusivity, and we were proud to be a part of it.
Overall, it was a heartwarming and inspiring day, and we are grateful to you our partnersh for enabling this to happen. We look forward to continuing our partnership with last mile community based organisations to improve literacy through providing books closer to children.
