Dear donors
Ugandan parliament has reintroduced the anti homosexuality bill 2023 where even when one identifys as LGBTIQ commits a crime punishable by law.
we are pleased to share with you that, together with strategic allies, have come together to form the Convening For Equality (CFE). The goal of CFE is to ensure that the counter strategy to attacks against the LGBTIQ+ community is well coordinated, resourced, timely, and sustained.
The members of CFE have proposed strategic areas for action and implementation, including the convening of community members, partners, and allies, legal support to community members, partners, and allies, and safety and security of community members, partners, and allies.
It is worth noting that all interventions of CFE will be implemented by various clusters working collaboratively with the broader membership and under the stewardship of the co-conveners. The work of CFE to implement the agreed strategy will commence forthwith, ensuring that the principles of full disclosure, equity, teamwork, and rapid response are upheld at all times.
