Opening Our 4th Pre-School!

By ZCT NPO | Project Co-ordinator

Speakman Creche
We are pleased to announce that our 4th Mandlakazi community pre-school has now been completed! The school was officially opened on the 14th of February by Helping Rhinos founder and CEO, Simon Jones; Nkosi Zulu; all the Mandlakazi community Ndunas; the Zululand Conservation Trust team, the teacher, cook and members of the community.
We cannot express our gratitude enough to our amazing donors; Save a Child Foundation (Mr Ron Small) and Helping Rhinos who stepped up to provide the funds for this much needed preschool. Speakman pre-school, named after a dear friend of Mr Ron Small, will fill a large gap in the Mandlakazi community where nearly 60 children will attend the pre-school.
The opening was a wonderful day of celebration with Simon Jones from Helping Rhinos and the iNkosi Zulu cutting a red ribbon to initiate the opening. There were many speeches and formalities but one that particularly touched our hearts were words from iNkosi Zulu thanking Karen and Manyoni Private Game Reserve/Zululand Conservation Trust for the continued support to the Mandlakazi community particularly considering all the challenges we have faced over the years.
Prior to the opening we completed the vegetable gardens, building of the toilets and kitchen facilities. We also had help from our volunteers Maddy and Mia who did such an amazing job of transforming the inside of the pre-school with colourful wildlife paintings and painting a large chalkboard. The creche is now stocked with toys, educational posters, puzzles, coloring in books and crayons. The kitchen is also equipped with cutlery, crockery, pots, and cooking utensils for a fully functional kitchen. We provide all the early learning centers with monthly food drops to ensure that all the children have a warm meal to enhance their learning experience and development. Should you wish to support the program please donate via our paypal platform or on our website.
