We are truly grateful for your support for the “Provide Pandemic Relief For 500 Cambodian Families” project during the past year, when the Covid-19 pandemic increasingly impacted Cambodia. Mission Dove Cambodia was also excited to receive a special grant from GlobalGiving for Covid relief. So together with your help, Dove staff were able to help 335 vulnerable families whose means of support was affected by Covid. Families received care packages of eggs and dried fish or sausages, fresh vegetables, rice and other staples. These families were in the Phnom Penh neighborhoods of Chbah Ampov, Chak Angre Leu, Chak Angre Krom and Boeung Tumpun.
In addition, your generosity enabled Dove staff to continue student support groups. These groups have provided emotional support and encouragement to teens to meet the new challenges from Covid. Dove was also able to pay stipends to the young adults who volunteer as English teachers. The teachers received ongoing teacher training so that they would be prepared when English classes resumed this year.
Cambodia has reopened to the world without restrictions this year and the economy is slowly recovering. Since there is no longer a need for direct relief, Dove has decided to deactivate this project. We invite you to check out the ongoing Mission Dove Cambodia GlobalGiving project that focuses on the growth and emotional healing of at-risk Cambodian youth at the link below: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/at-risk-youth-cambodia-growth-emotional-healing/
