PeaceJam UK are expanding the level of programming in Coventry by working with 150 teachers from 30 Primary Schools in areas affected by social and economic deprivation, where the local community experiences multicultural integration challenges, and high levels of unemployment and antisocial behaviour.
Primary School teachers from each school will receive training in how to implement and facilitate the PeaceJam Juniors curriculum. A core part of the training focuses on how teachers can support young people in devising and delivering a social change project that identifies and tackles the root cause of issues in their community, as part of PeaceJam’s One Billion Acts of Peace campaign. The impact of training teachers as multipliers of the PeaceJam programme will be felt in schools for several years, enabling the creation of more young leaders that are committed to making positive change in themselves, their community and in the world.
Thanks to donors like you, PeaceJam UK is able to increase the level of programming, and equip teachers and youth workers with the resources to create young leaders and break the cycle of disadvantage. Thank you for choosing to support our project, this makes a big difference to the work we do with young people.
