PeaceJam UK Youth Team leading the way

By Caroline Millman | Chairman, PeaceJam UK

August is always a quiet month for activity with schools, but we should like to thank all our donors who have enabled us to spend this time working on our one-day PeaceJam UK Slam.  This will take place on Saturday 12 November at the University of Winchester, with a virtual event running alongside.  The flier is attached.

Our PeaceJam UK Youth Team continue to take the lead on putting together the programme, selecting who will be on the Question and Answer “panel” and what workshops will be running.  There will be three key panellists, each representing one of the three strands of: Climate Change, Refugees, and Conflict, most of whom will be young activists who can really demonstrate how to build an idea into an effective project and keep it going.

Registration for the Slam is now open, here is the link:

Prior to the event we shall be sharing a six-week programme of activities that schools and youth groups can undertake to prepare them for the Slam.  This programme is also being constructed by the Youth Team and will support the “Active Citizenship” aspect of the GCSE Citizenship curriculum.  And a few weeks after the Slam there will be a follow-up event to help the young people move their projects on and tell everyone what they have been doing.

Your support is invaluable and continues to allow us to grow the PeaceJam UK family of young people, with working for peace in their hearts.  Thank you so much.
