We are happy to share how your donation has helped a mother of a child with disabilities in Ukraine.
Dasha, like many mothers of disabled children we support, faced a complicated situation. Her family had to uproot their lives due to the war and start anew in a different city. After becoming an internally displaced person (IDP), Dasha found herself in a precarious situation. She needed to work to provide for her son, but finding a job in Ukraine during these challenging times is very difficult, especially for a mother of a child who requires extra care and support.
Dasha shared her situation in her own words: 'We are a large family who had to leave our home in the Donetsk region and settle in Kramatorsk. After becoming an internally displaced person, I found myself in a very tough financial situation. Unfortunately, I can't commit to a full-time job because my son needs specialised classes with a significant monthly cost. In light of these challenges, I decided to try my hand at the beauty industry, which allows me the flexibility to work around my son's needs.'
Dasha is eager to make it work in the new field: 'Each month, I welcome new clients, and it fills my heart with gratitude to know they trust me. I am committed to growing in this field, participating in training, and enhancing my skills.'
Thanks to your generous support, BKC purchased USD 229 worth of materials to assist Dasha in her venture.
In these tough circumstances, it is vital to maintain hope and stay inspired. We are incredibly grateful to you for providing that hope to mothers of children with disabilities in Ukraine, like Dasha. Your support sends a powerful message to these mothers—that someone sees them, cares about them, and believes in their future. On behalf of all of us at Bright Kids Charity, thank you for your compassion, which uplifts the lives of the mothers and children we serve.
Warm wishes,
