You may have seen the terrible news – yet another earthquake has struck Nepal.
More than a thousand people are injured. Now, even more people than before are without homes, taking refuge in the street and under flimsy tents.
Our grassroots partners in Nepal haven’t stopped since the first earthquake and its aftershocks. For almost three weeks, they’ve been hard at work delivering food, medical kits, tents, water purification supplies and more – and with this new disaster, their urgent aid is needed more than ever.
Your support helps make grassroots women's crucial efforts possible. Give today to help local women leaders, like our sisters in Nepal, respond immediately to disaster.
Your gift to our Emergency and Disaster Relief Fund supports women first responders — the lifelines of their communities. You help guarantee that – no matter where in the world disaster strikes, like today's devastating earthquake in Nepal – women in danger have your support.
It’s impossible to predict exactly when and where a catastrophe like an earthquake will strike. But one thing is certain. Women are not just passive victims in disaster. They are vital rescuers.
Just last night, I heard from one of our sisters in a community just outside Kathmandu. Storms bringing rain and hail are making life in the tents impossible — and monsoon season is on the way. She told me that they had to rush and rescue a mother with her newborn baby from a tent being pounded by the storm. That mother had been discharged from a hospital with no place to go, her home destroyed.
But MADRE support made it possible to reach her and her baby with dry clothing and shelter. Your gift today will help make sure that she, and others like her, continue to receive food, medical aid, clean water and more.
Please make a donation to our Emergency and Disaster Relief Fund today.
Thank you,
