After devastating earthquakes struck Nepal in April, large relief agencies struggled to deliver urgent aid to remote areas. But thanks to you, MADRE and our on-the-ground partners were able to mobilize immediately to bring emergency aid to vulnerable women and families in the most hard-to-reach areas. Your support delivered food, water and tents to over 400 households in 10 of the most hard-hit districts and supplied 10,000 health kits to pregnant women and new mothers.
And that's not all. With your help, we're supporting our on-the-ground partners for the long haul. Thanks to GlobalGiving supporters like you, MADRE and the National Indigenous Women Forum (NIWF) are reconstructing 30 homes located in the Thami Indigenous community that were destroyed by earthquake. These homes are all located in the Dolakha district, one of the hardest hit in Nepal. The Indigenous families who live there have been staying in temporary shelters since April. But thanks to your support, they will soon be able to return home again.
Thank you so much for making this possible!
