Greetings from St Martins School,
It is our hope that despite the many challenges we face we have been able to make it to the first half of the year.
Education: As a school we are more than grateful for the support we have received to date. through this support, St Martins Boys School was opened in The month of May.
We have been able to do the renovations in the Dining Hall, the kitchen, and the school administration block, clear the bushes and clean the school environment to make it habitable for the students and staff. The school administration has been able to employ 6 teachers, 1 Guard, 2 Kitchen staff, and 1 gardener to help with the day-to-day running of the school.
We have 19 students in Form 1 and Form 2. we consider this a good start for a new school and we hope to get more boys into the school over time. 15 of the 19 boys graduated from our primary school in the national exams that were done in the Month of March in which the school performed very well.
School officially opened on the 5th of May. The school calendar year is short with one-week breaks due to the pandemic. We are halfway through the first term and the boys are expected to be on break from the 1st of July to the 11th of July and then resume for the second term from the 13th of July.
Going Forward: There is still a lot of work to be done to have the school fully functional and the fact that we have reopened is a testament that we will make good progress over time and we are still optimistic that we will get more funding over time to achieve our goal.
We are grateful for the far that we have come and we hope to do more as the year progresses. Thank you all for the much that has been done and is still being done to date.
