Greetings from St Martins Schools,
It is our hope that all is well in your respective countries and that its is as per your expectations.
Education:
As a school we have continued to offer education, the school feeding program to the needy students from the Kibagare slum. It is a challenge due to the high costs of foods and also climate change which has had a devastating effect in food production due to lack of rain in the last two years.
The cost of feeding the students has gone high and this has effects on all the other aspects of the education of our students, a good example is teachers take pay home. All in all we are hope that through the support we have continued to receive we will be able to finish the year on a high.
The school reopened on the 26th of September 2022. We are in the third term of the current school calendar year. It is a short term that will be ending on the 26th of November 2022.
In our Boys school, since we started in may of this year, we have been able to admit 19 boys in their first year of high school and 5 Boys in their second year of high school. In the last two exams the students have sat. They have been performing very well and this encourages us to look for ways of investing in them in the hope of making their future bright.
School Needs:
Being a new school, there are still very many needs though the one we have singled out is the need to have a computer lab as a teaching and learning Aid. With help in the installation of this we are sure it will go a long way in helping the students achieve and do much to aid in their studies.
All in all we can say that this far we have made good progress and we hope that as time progresses and the support we have and continue to receive we will be able to achive that which we have set out.
We are grateful to you our supporters and donors for the far taht we have come and we hope to continue to work towards making the lives of the children of Kibagare slums better.
Thank you.
