Capacity sharing training for DPOs is needed

By Abid Hussain | Project Lead

The Capacity Sharing Training for Disabled Persons' Organizations (DPOs) project aims to strengthen the capacity of DPOs to effectively advocate for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Through training sessions, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities, the project seeks to build the skills and knowledge base of DPO members, empowering them to drive positive change in their communities.

Achievements:

Training Workshops: Conducted a series of training workshops for DPO members on topics such as advocacy strategies, fundraising techniques, project management, and leadership development. These workshops provided participants with practical skills and tools to enhance their organizational capacity and effectiveness in advocating for disability rights.
Resource Sharing: Facilitated the sharing of resources, best practices, and lessons learned among DPOs through peer-to-peer learning sessions and online platforms. Encouraged collaboration and knowledge exchange to leverage collective expertise and address common challenges faced by DPOs.
Networking Events: Organized networking events and conferences to connect DPOs with government agencies, international organizations, and other stakeholders working in the disability rights field. These events provided opportunities for DPOs to establish partnerships, access resources, and amplify their advocacy efforts at the national and international levels.
Technical Assistance: Provided technical assistance and mentorship to DPOs in areas such as strategic planning, organizational governance, and project implementation. Offered customized support tailored to the specific needs and priorities of each DPO, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals effectively.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Implemented a monitoring and evaluation framework to track the progress and impact of the training activities. Conducted regular assessments and feedback sessions to gather input from participants and measure the effectiveness of the training interventions in building DPO capacity and advancing disability rights.
