World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. Pakistan has limited facilities to treat children with Down Syndrome, the social acceptance required to engage children with Down Syndrome in all spheres of life. The People with Down Syndrome need an international day because all around the world, people with Down syndrome are treated badly, they are denied a quality education, they are denied good health care, they are denied the chance to work and earn their own money, they are not allowed to make decisions about their own lives, their voices are not heard, So, on 21 March we create a single global voice advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of people with Down syndrome. There is dire need to engage all stakeholders to become a World Down Syndrome Advocates. Siddiqui GM CSR Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said that SSGC believes in social responsibility to protect disability rights especially Down Syndrome.
