A New Era and More Demand Than Ever

By Caroline Smith | Project Founder

Dear Supporters,

Our school started in 2016 with 5 children that was fallen through the gaps. Here in Zimbabwe and at the local schools we have an average of 50-60 children to one teacher, with this ratio there is no support for children than are dealing with neglect or abuse.

With this urgent need we opened our project and today have 95 children attending with 9 teachers and 1 care giver. While we are committed to smaller groups per teacher we also have to fund their salaries of $600 a month and we have a couple of sponsors but we are struggling and this is why need to fundraise.

Fundraising also allows us to raise money for stationery, food and medical supplies needed for the children. Many children have been through trauma and now stay at our home and through this we ensure every child is fed 3 times a day and cover any medical costs but as you can imagine some months this can really increase and our only source of funding are a few regular donors and you so we really do value your support.

As a speical school for disadvantaged children we have adopted bird names for the classes rather than grades by age as some children come to us a bit older but with no education and so we start them in differenr groups following an introduction session so we can ensure we give them the best possible opportunities of learning. For us it is not about the exam results but the value we add, taking a a child that can't read and write to being able to read and write their own CV at the age of 18 is a far bigger achievement that passing their 14 year old exams.

For this reason we are not a government school and 100% fuunded through donations and sponsors and for these 95 children your support has changed their lives, thank you

Caroline
