Ever since the earthquake on the Noto Peninsula on January 1st, 2024, we have been unwavering in our commitment to serve survivors living in shelters, and in temporary housing.
During the hot summer months there were some areas that still faced water supply issues, and so our activities continued delivering water and other essential supplies.
As government-provided temporary housing units for the displaced were built, survivors moved in from shelters, and our focus has been on supporting the psychosocial needs of these communities through ochakai (teatime) gathering events, mini-concerts, cook-outs serving hot meals, and counseling.
So far, we have served over 18,000 survivors through our activities.
