We started this year on a high note! On January 17, 2022, we launched the lab-school 17 children fulfilling a long standing dream and launching us into early childhood development.
One couldn’t help but notice how nervous and curious the children were, that morning. The enjuba staff welcomed each parent and child and escorted them to their respective classes; kindergarten and reception. Little did they know, they had some pretty amazing teachers waiting on them in the classes. For the first week of school, the little ones were joined in one class with a sole purpose of getting them well acquainted to the new faces and the environment.
As the weeks went by, the children were getting a hang of their new school, teachers and friends. The nervousness on their faces started to fade and their excitement for school grew. The little ones that used to quietly move to their classes were the ones now running and laughing their way to class. With this each morning, we knew we were on the right track. Seeing the children love to come to school is a huge win for us. This was confirmed by parents during the first Parents’ meeting.
The parents were excited and grateful about the school as they each shgred how their children loved to come to school. One parent said, “When my child was going to his former school, every morning was a struggled and he would go to school crying, but here, he wakes us up in the morning and asks us to bring him to school. He absolutely loves coming to school”
They shared about how their children were learning, and were grateful to teachers. One parent was so excited because her daughter had learnt to read in 7 short weeks and could not stop looking for books or writing down words she knew.
One of the pieces of feedback from a father filled our hearts with so much joy and purpose. He shared that ever since the daughter started going to this school, she is happier and that the school has given her a conducive environment to heal from the trauma she had experienced from the previous school where she was beaten.
The amount of positive energy experienced through the parents meeting left us and the teachers excited to continue doing our best, learn about the children and provide them the best learning environment ever.
