The work of GG in Bolni received resounding applause by Parent Teacher Association members as 80 of the poor pupils in upper primary obtained 80% average score in their last terminal exams. The same group of pupils had an average of 50% scores during the same terminal exams in 2017. Thanks to the learning materials from GlobalGiving and Grameen Ghana's monitoring and coaching of peer learning activities in the community, Ubabu and her colleagues have made history through their unprecedented increase in academic performance. Ubabu was full of smiles and confidence when she said “GlobalGiving has given me hope and inspiration to complete school. I never believed I could do well in school again and So I was only matching time to a day I will leave primary school and join my sisters at the farm. However, with my current performance, I now realize that I can even go to University in Tamale, just like some of the men from this area”. The story of Ubabu and her colleagues is an indication that the donations from GlobalGiving never go waste when we patiently keep supporting beneficiaries to use these donations. In the last quarter of the year, GG intends to launch new projects to increase competition among rural children to motivate them to increase their performance. GG will also continue the quest for increase access to solar lamps for off-grid communities like Bolni. It is our strong hope that you continue your donations to us to help improve the performance of more deprived school children in Ghana. The people of Bolni and Grameen Ghana sincerely thank you for your kind support.
