Jambo,
We continue to be overjoyed with the progress our students are making in their studies and their positive attitudes. Each day they enthusiastically attend their classes and eagerly participate in their lessons. From our youngest students to our oldest their dedication is contagious.
Class Six continues to work weekly with their learning partners in New York and are enjoying reading together and writing poetry. This opportunity for both groups of students has been life changing. Our younger students continue to work on their letters, numbers and reading. It is always exciting to enter a classroom and listen to a student who only weeks before had difficulty sounding out letters begin to put words and sentences together. Our Class Seven students continue to grasp math concepts involving angle measures and multi-step equations with ease and proficiency. We are so proud of the fact that they continue to score as the number one students in the mock National Exams in our local ward. We couldn’t be prouder. When we think about English being a second language, to all of our students, we are truly amazed with their abilities and knowledge. The support and continued encouragement that their teachers provide them with challenges them to work their hardest and remember that no problem is too difficult or subject to hard when you’re surrounded by people who are your biggest cheerleaders.
Recently, Mr. Mapigano, our Academic Master and Mr. Mbise, one of our school’s founders, were invited to Germany to meet with sponsors and donors to share the wonderful successes of our students. Everyone was quite impressed with all that they are doing and because of this visit the International School Campus (ISC) in Germany and in Canada have asked to build a partnership between their schools and ours. Only ten years ago our doors opened to our very first class and now we have nine classrooms filled with inquisitive children with futures that are limitless and international learning experiences. Dreams do come true!
We are so grateful for your support and partnership. You are not only helping our students, but their families and the greater communities surround our Midawe village. Together, we are all helping to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of so many young children and for that we are forever grateful. We continue to look forward to hosting your visits and sharing our classrooms and learning experiences with you. Our Facebook page and Instagram are updated regularly so you can watch our achievements and adventures in learning.
Stay safe and healthy.
