Dear HOPE Friends,
Target Hosts Mentorship Workshop for HOPE's Zia Colony Students
Last week, Target Corporation volunteers participated in a mentorship workshop for students of HOPE's Zia Colony School. Target has been a long-standing corporate supporter of HOPE, particularly in the avenue of promoting educational opportunities for underserved students.
On August 3, 2024, a classroom of eager students thoroughly enjoyed a day of interacting with Target volunteers. Activities included story-telling, working on puzzles together, and conversations about future aspirations and career goals. The children felt connected, uplifted and motivated following this kind gesture by initiated by Target.
Over the course of 25 years, HOPE has employed a multi-pronged approach towards poverty alleviation which includes Healthcare Education, Vocational Training, Clean Water, Disaster Relief, Ramadan Activities, and Qurbani. Within these frameworks, we have also made it a priority to interweave mental well-being projects into our services to those less fortunate. We actively encourage and promote various measures which instill a sense of security for our beneficiaries, and especially vulnerable children.
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our appreciation and gratitude to Target volunteers for their dedication to creating lasting memories for underprivileged children who attend Zia Colony School. Zia Colony is an extremely poor district within Karachi, Pakistan. HOPE's Zia Colony School was established in 2002 through the generosity of the Embassy of Japan. It currently serves as the educational hub for 800 disadvantaged students.
Many thanks to Target for their gracious support throughout the years and to their volunteers for going the extra mile to ignite a lasting impact!
