We are in touch with our first batch of girls we trained in Lagos, Nigieria, and so many are soaring. We recently started nominating young women in Nigieria for our mentorship programme. Demi (name changed per GG policy), one of our mentees, is full of life and passion to succeed.
Now, 19, she is a home-based entrepreneur. Inspired by her Educate a Girl training, she started a small business selling scarfs. She enjoys painting them and making each scarf special. Her friends and even strangers have started buying and they love her work, but she wants to grow this and reach more people. But how? So, we connected her with a mentor. Twice a month, they will speak for 2 hours and the mentor is teaching .Demi all about business plans, branding and scale. Most importantly, Angela - her mentor - is making Demi believe in herself and unlimited possibilities.
When you eduate a girl, it is never about one moment in time. An entire life changes. Possiblities may even appear later. All from one opportunity. And a chance made by possible by you. Thank you!
Educate another girl today!
