Some MHO Children beneficiaries in tutoring classes inside the MHO rehabilitation center
Your donation in this quarter through our pioneering Educate Ethiopia Children One Pack for One Child programs only not addressed children's basic nutrition food, and nutrition needs, but also, your kind support expand learning opportunities and minimize learning differences through provided tutoring programs
Despite the benefits of early childhood education, in Ethiopia minimal intervention in this critical stage of education. Denial of early childhood education main concern In Ethiopia, In Ethiopia prior early learning, has not yet managed to reach the most disadvantaged children, many of whom remain out of school Besides the lack of qualified and well-trained teachers in preschool, and imbalanced staff-child ratios; improper healthcare and hygiene are some of the challenges that early childhood education .and lack the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities Children who are the most disadvantaged and affected by this challenge. Your donation alleviates some of this burden
MHO Children beneficiaries, pictured here, are among children who are currently sheltered in the MHO rehabilitation center in Addis Ababa and have benefitted from the activities and programs offered by the project. The tutoring programs provided not only expand learning opportunities and minimize learning differences but also create a safe environment in which these children can confidently and enthusiastically develop the necessary academic skill sets. Before being taken out of the street by MHO, these children had been on the street in unsafe environments without adequate nutrition, and opportunities to learn and socialize. Generally suffer from poor health and nutrition, no early learning educational opportunities, developmental delays, and inadequate social and emotional support At MHO these children received the necessary support they need to reach their full potential.
Moreover, in this reporting period, your kind MHO helped children in conflict-affected areas in, Amhara, continue their education in temporary learning centers. Recently, MHO distributed educational materials to more than 180 students, living in shelters in Amhara. The program provided psychosocial support to children so that recover from trauma and continue their education. This is only possible because of the support of special individuals and foundations that provide the funds to reach out to these children
In the meantime, as pictured below, different vegetables and grains already harvested with the kind support of GlobalGiving born fruit have been collected from the farm and the land will be prepared for the next round of harvesting season
On the other hand, to address the looming drought in the south, MHO has opened a new office in Konso which is 700 km away from Addis Ababa to reach out affected community
